2-IN-1 GLASS FIBRE PIT LINER

APS are an automotive service centre with state-of-the-art facilities based in Raglan, South Wales. 

The company uses a hydraulic ramp to lift to transfer classic and specialist cars to a second floor in their new facility. However, the concrete pit was prone to water ingress and was at risk of groundwater contamination with automotive fuel and a glass fibre lining system was requested.

The solution: Our technicians installed a glass fibre Strandek® GRP Lining System to the concrete pit. This was to create a 2-in-1 waterproof barrier and fuel bund to prevent groundwater contamination in the event of automotive fuel spillage. The process involved:

• Concrete pit cleaning and preparation prior to primer application.
• G4 Primer application to the concrete to cure excess moisture and to facilitate the binding of our glass fibre Strandek® GRP Liner.
• Lining with glass fibre with a high-performance flow coat, creating structural support, waterproofing and chemical fuel resistance.
