Roofing and re-roofing projects for listed buildings and buildings classed as ‘special interest’ architectural or historic interest’ require special consideration.
Having worked on historic churches to listed buildings, our customers know they will receive the full benefit of our knowledge and expertise, regardless of size, from complete re-roofing or simple repairs.
We appreciate the importance and sensitivity of restorative roofing work. When refurbishing these properties we carefully remove the original slate and tile, aiming to salvage for reuse or select a near identical replacement.
In our view, it’s particularly important to regularly check roofs, chimney stacks, downpipes, gutters and external timber work and to repair any defects as soon as possible toavoid more expensive repairs later. The use of the right materials and traditional building techniques is also important to retaining the special character of a building.
