Roofing gutters

Cleaning, maintenance, repair and replacement

What are the parts that make a gutter system?

Guttering diagram

Gutters: channel rainwater from roofing surfaces into designated drainage systems.

Fascias: support both the gutter structure and lower edge of the roofing tiles.

Soffits: are hidden underneath the fascia board and are typically ventilated to allow moisture evaporation.

Downpipes: transport rainwater collected by the gutter channel, typically into an underground drainage system

Gutter substrates

UPVC: this is one of the most popular gutter types, a substrate that is:

  • Fully waterproof, lightweight and durable
  • Colour co-ordinated to complement your property
  • Gives your property will have an external facelift

GRP linings: a second type is more specialist - GRP - comprised of glass fibre. These gutters are moulded to the roofing structure and are perfect for concrete or metal channels. They offer a seamless, durable and fully waterproof barrier – you can find out more about these here.
