10-Year Insurance Backed Guarantee (FCA-Regulated)
The first is a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee from the Independent Warranty Association (IWA), regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), to provide customers with peace of mind that their roof is covered for any eventuality. This guarantee specifically covers defects in materials and workmanship.
20-Year Strandek® Guarantee
This is a 20-year workmanship guarantee, which ensures that any problems identified with the roof due to our workmanship will be rectified at no cost to the customer. With decades experience of in flat roof installation and thousands of satisfied customers, Strandek are confident that our guarantees will provide the highest level of security and quality for their customers.
Why is a Guarantee Important?
There are various reasons why a flat roof might leak – and why a guarantee is needed. Some of these are detailed below:
Poor specification: the installer could select roofing materials that are not fit for purpose, exposing the roof to premature failure.
Poor workmanship: defective flat roofs are often caused by poor-quality workmanship. This is a major reason why we are selected by insurance companies to perform flat roof surveys.

A. There is no difference – they are the same thing.
Q. Where do your guarantees apply?
A. Our guarantees apply to new Strandek® fibreglass flat roofs, flat roof overlays and selected repairs.
Q. What is not covered by a flat roof guarantee?
A. No flat roof system guarantee will cover damage incurred from damage caused by falling objects, equipment placement or unexplained events. This is why we recommend customers select a fibreglass flat roofing system, due to the durability of the membrane and excellent mechanical and waterproofing properties.
Q. What types of guarantees are there for flat roofs?
A. There are several types of flat roofing guarantees. These are detailed below:
+ Company guarantees: cover company workmanship and material quality.
+ Manufacturer guarantees: cover the waterproofing system (e.g. the fibreglass membrane) plus the individual materials.
+ Insurance-backed guarantees: cover against defective roof materials, workmanship and repairs required within the policy and have lifetimes of 10 years.
